Each of these 3 painting were inspired by photos and scripture. Each is a modern interpretation of scripture. I just began paint in January of 2022.

Painting on canvas

12" x 12" canvas painting using acrylic paints. I heard about the talent expo and I knew I waited to do a painting. I felt like it should be about baptism because that is a really important decision and the first step on the covenant path.

Drawing of different stories in the gospel that express my spiritual side of finding myself in the scriptures. These are stories that stick out to me the most.

The spires were extruded like Play-Doh and have approximately a 1/8" circular opening at the top for a metal spire topper. The alternative was as a candle holder. At the time, the Washington DC Temple was the closest to Charleston,WV and Portsmouth, OH as the Columbus, Ohio and Louisville, KY Temples had not yet been announced or built. This was only my second project in a ceramics class. In order to make a ceramic piece, the clay must be kneaded to get any air bubbles out and a smoother working product. My professor looked at me quizzically when I asked for a demonstration. He said you knead it like bread dough. So I demonstrated my experience: push the bread machine button. My professor couldn't tell what I was making and was concerned it would self destruct when it was initially fired (bisque fired) from the clay state. The 50# unit is intact.
